Freddy’s Steakburgers Comes to San Tan Valley

San Tan Valley is only a few years old. Well, the name, anyway. We are an area that’s still developing traditions—and we’re excited when anything new comes our way.

So it’s fitting that Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is coming to this region that’s hungry (pun intended) for traditions. The story behind the making of the unique chain of Freddy’s is filled with traditions and memories—perfect for the town that’s just starting to make their own.

The Freddy’s chain began in Wichita, Kansas with two brothers, Bill and Randy Simon, who were inspired by their own childhoods that were filled with family values and good old-fashioned cooking. Their father, Freddy Simon, was their inspiration for the chain, as he always instilled the importance of family and tradition in them.

Once the two men partnered with Scott Redler, the Freddy’s concept truly started to take off: Timeless traditions, amazing recipes, and an atmosphere based on the wholesomeness of the 1940s 1950s.

Freddy Simon, now 88, is a World War II veteran, having received a purple heart before becoming a family man, and all the Freddy’s locations are decorated with black & white photos that tell the story of his life. From his early days feeding chickens on his family’s farm, to his military service, to his time of having a family on his own, the story of Freddy is clear in any Freddy’s franchise, including the San Tan Valley location that is due to open in early November 2013.

Franchise manager Craig Newman is bringing the Freddy’s spirit to the new location. “We are very excited to be coming to San Tan Valley,” Newman said. “And we’re happy to be part of this growing community.”

The food is rumored to be incredible—yes, steakburgers and other entrees that epitomize timeless classics. The steakburgers are from 85%-lean ground beef and some with shoestring fries and Freddy’s well-known “fry sauce.” The custard is churned throughout the day and comes is flavors including the Signature Turtle.

San Tan Valley is always excited for the new—and it’s perfect that the new Freddy’s is a nod to the traditions of the past. We’re looking forward to many San Tan Valley family’s creating memories at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers—a place soon to be a STV favorite.
